Virginia Public School Teacher Attrition Serious
The State of Virginia is known for having a very great public school system, however the teachers union is admitting that the attrition rate is nearly 50% in three years. In other words when a new teacher comes to teach in the State of Virginia public school system there is a 50% chance that they will be gone before the end of three years. But why are the teachers quitting The answer will probably not shocked you but it is of great concern to those residents living in Virginia.
Many of the teachers after they get their teaching credentials join the public school system to make a difference and then they find out that they are merely glorified babysitters. This is quite unfortunate because these young individuals have come to teach and they care, but they are not allowed to discipline in the classroom and without discipline there can be no meaningful teaching.

Well, the most obvious is that a good summer program keeps the kids of Virginia Schools off the streets and involved in something beneficial. Virginia Schools leaders recognize this need and strive to offer its students fun and exciting learning experiences that hopefully rival anything fun that kids may wish to explore on their own. Many students today have to be latch-key kids – meaning they have to come home after school to an empty house. Their parent(s) are at work 9-5 and these kids have to rely on themselves to get through afternoons safely. This situation compounds itself during holiday and summer breaks. Feeling lonely and maybe even isolated, kids will most likely look for company and entertainment outside their homes. The summer learning camps offered by Virginia Schools can give these kids something to do and somewhere to go, all in a safe, familiar environment.
